Play Time

It actually feels like fall! Amazing! And, I will admit we are taking great joy in listening to all our friends back home complain about how hot it is... I know, we really should be sympathetic, but --- its entertaining to think that one weekend out of the whole year the San Diego 'perfect weather' isn't actually perfect and they have temps in the 90s, some places the low 100s. Woah, so hot I can't imagine weather like that, oh right I live in Dallas and its pretty much above 100 all summer long! Oh and before Dallas we were in the DC area with temps in the high 90s and insane humidity. Ew! So for this weekend we are taking great joy in knowing we are having amazing weather and home isn't. Wrong, yes, but still it makes me smile.

We are suppose to have rain all day today. Currently its in the mid 60s and raining, but this morning it was beautiful. Light sprinkles but temps in the high 60s. We loaded up all the kiddos and Mocha Dog and headed to our favorite park/walking trail. We had intended to walk the trails and look for more fish and frogs in the pond like last weekend, except when we got there we were the ONLY people there! We were a little shocked, after all its only rain. We went straight to the big castle play ground and let all the kids and Mocha Dog play like crazy. The entire thing is fenced in, with only one entrance so its a fantastic huge safe play ground. They had a blast! We, yes even Jon and I enjoyed the playground and swings, played for over two hours. We went for a little walk down to the pond but our tummies were getting hungry so we decided to head home. Once we were all loaded up in the car it started to rain big ol' Texas size rain drops - perfect timing!

Now the kids and Jon are watching The Lorax, and I am multi tasking by typing this blog post and starting to make pumpkin cinnamon rolls from scratch - my own super yummy recipe, and roasted red pepper tomato soup. The fall is my favorite time of year and I am thankful that today we had a little preview of whats to come. I love spending time in the kitchen and baking with my family. Bring on FALL I'm ready for it - the baking, the crisp air, football, beautiful vibrant fall colors, pumpkins... so many things to look forward to when it comes to fall.

Here and There

Must get back to blogging --- have so much to say... I love our new computer (really really love) but I must admit it was easier to blog using a laptop. Having the freedom to type from the bed, the table, the couch... I miss that. Hopefully we can get it working pretty soon here, plus I'd love to have access to all our old photos, recipes, you know all that normal computer stuff you have after having the same computer for some time.

I just going to start throwing random updates and pictures at you for the next few post. This one is mostly all the silly faces Grae makes!  All our kiddos have made the same silly faces - always entertaining and brings giggles to the whole family.

tied an ice pack onto her ouchie, that alone would have made for a silly picture but she felt the need to add  some silly faces

singing

she was trying to pull her tooth out --- I'm strange, I know, but wiggling teeth turns my stomach upside down. I think it stems from my knees dislocating. Its a horrible feeling to see a part of your body (the patella) in the wrong spot and the pain and strange feeling it brings on... yup just typing this gave me the chills remembering all the dislocations... well wiggly teeth reminds me of that and gives me the creeps. Shortie finds it very entertaining to watch me squirm. But like a good Mom, I still helped her pull her tooth out :)

another lost tooth! She is growing up way too quickly!

ha- a butterfly was hiding in the car after our trip to the farmers market. I told Shortie to look up and it caught her off guard - love that look!

for my birthday we went and bought everyone a tall Passion Tea Lemonade from Starbucks - Grae was very excited!

the nose scrunch

this is how mommy has fun doing her hair - her unders on her head with room for her piggy tails - it could be a new trend ;)

cute no matter what

why? As pretty as it is I always find myself asking why when I see houses like this.. who NEEDS a house that big. Maybe you WANT one, but think about how much good you could have done with that money -- actually bought food and shelter for people that really NEED it...  I will never understand why
